I think the reason David Spett has received so much positive feedback from his column is that it's an example of responsible reporting - he's letting readers decide. To those who fear that this incident involving the dean may damage the reputation of the school, I'd like to remind them that Spett makes Medill School of Journalism students look measured and ethical in this situation. That's definitely a good thing. And if a journalism school at a university isn't the place to debate issues like this, then where is the appropriate time to do so?
